CRUSADER ALUMNI NEWSLETTER

Dear Fellow Crusaders,

Happy New Year!  I hope 2012 has started out on a good note for all of you.  We have an alumni association board meeting coming up on Thursday, January 26 at 6:30 PM.  The meeting will take place at Oggi’s Pizza located at 2130 Birch Road (off of Eastlake Parkway in Otay Ranch).  If you have some time, please join us for a few minutes as we plan to discuss future alumni events.

The next class of inductees for the “Distinguished Crusader Award” has been selected and they will be inducted on Friday, March 16 at 6:30 PM.  The induction ceremony will take place on the Mater Dei campus in the DePaul Center.  An invitation to the event will be sent out in early February.  Hope you can attend this wonderful event.  This event recognizes Crusader alumni and other community leaders who have distinguished themselves in the community and represented Marian/Mater Dei Catholic High School.  This year’s inductees are:

The Crusader Football team hung it first Mesa-Pacific League Championship banner during the winter sports rally and the winter sports teams are ready for league play. 

Winter sports at Mater Dei is starting league play and you can find out the sports schedules by either visiting the winter sports schedule site on the school’s web page at http://materdeicatholic.org/index.php/2011-08-09-03-29-37/winter-sports or checking the weekly bulletin on the web site at www.materdeicatholic.org.  If you cannot make the home games, this year’s home girls and boys basketball games will be webcast on the San Diego Parochial School Network at www.sdpsn.com .

• April 30 – May 11, 2012 – Big Bash Online Auction
• Oct 4, 2012 - Crusader Sports Hall of Fame Induction
• Oct 5, 2012 - Homecoming 2012 - Football vs. San Ysidro at 7 PM followed by Alumni Post Game Party in the gym.

The school is looking for donations for its Annual Crusade drive and I encourage all of you to make a donation to the Annual Crusade at(http://72.249.30.49/~marian/index.php/2011-08-09-03-29-9/annual-crusade ) and help support the Crusader Alumni Scholarship Fund for students of Crusader Alumni. The Crusader Alumni Association is here to support alumni of Marian Catholic and Mater Dei Catholic High Schools.
