This course offers a wonderful opportunity for students to progress from beginner to intermediate levels of dance while enhancing their technique, poise, self-confidence, and creativity. In this program, students learn and perform captivating choreography, with the chance to showcase their skills at our Christmas and End-of-the-Year dance recitals.

Students explore a variety of dance styles, including Jazz, Jazz-Funk, Musical Theater, Lyrical, and Contemporary for our older students, providing a comprehensive and enriching dance education. Additionally, participants in middle school have the exciting opportunity to represent Mater Dei at external events and join in on educational and entertaining field trips.

Visual Arts

At MDCE, the Visual Arts Enrichment class is where creativity flourishes and ideas transform into unique works of art. In class, students discover how art shapes their skills, enhancing their self-confidence, curiosity, and perspective. Visual Arts offers an enriching experience that gives voice and color to their dreams. In May 2024, an extraordinary exhibition titled “Timeline in Art” was held, with participation from all grades, from TK to 8th grade. Each student presented a piece representing the journey of human artistic expression throughout history, covering everything from cave paintings to the Renaissance, Surrealism, and Andy Warhol's pop art.

Additionally, Elementary Visual Arts students enjoyed a unique opportunity to visit the annual exhibition at MD, where they could appreciate the talented work of their High School peers. This event showcased works employing various fascinating artistic techniques, styles, and three-dimensional projects. Currently, all students are enthusiastically working on this semester’s exhibition theme, titled “Art Around the World,” which allows them to explore and learn about the rich traditions, cultures, and artistic styles around the globe.
