Student Life

There are many opportunities for students to participate in extracurriculars beyond just Arts and Athletics.

We have organizations that foster friendship and soft skills by becoming community leaders. MDCHS also has activities like rallies, dances, and other activities that create Crusader Spirit!

Associated Student Body (ASB)

*Students may participate in up to 2 groups

Why ASB?

Students who make the student body feel connected to the school and each other through various school events and activities they plan and organize including rallies, spirit days, and dances.

Requirements

  • 3.0 GPA and Above
  • No D or Fs
  • Open to all students
  • Election Process
  • If elected, must be available Wednesdays after school
  • Be a positive voice for the student body

Campus Ministry

*Students may participate in up to 2 groups
*Students may not participate in Campus Ministry and Link Crew simultaneously

Why Campus Ministry?

Students will get the opportunity to be formed in the Catholic faith and be ministers to their peers in liturgies and retreats, demonstrating leadership and living their faith.

Requirements

  • At least a 2.0 or above and B- in previous religion class
  • No D’s or F’s
  • Serious discipline issue results in probation/removal
  • 11th Jr. CM - clean discipline record
  • No red flags from Theology teachers, counselors
  • 12th Sr. CM - must show great initiative in Jr. CM and have strong leadership and faith
  • Must enroll in Campus Ministry classes

LINK Crew-saders

*Students may participate in up to 2 groups
*Students may not participate in Campus Ministry and Link Crew simultaneously

Why LINK Crew-saders?

As the school for Every One, we dedicate a team of students to help and support 9th graders transitioning into high school. Our own experienced Juniors & Seniors are trained to become mentors throughout the school year to provide guidance during their first year as Crusaders.

  • Outgoing personality and love for mentoring new students

Ambassadors for Christ

*Students may participate in up to 2 groups

Why Ambassadors for Christ?

The Ambassadors for Christ is an organization of Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Mater Dei Catholic students who accept Jesus Christ as a role model and share in the mission of being the face and hands of Christ to others. As representatives of Christ, Ambassadors strive to bring Christ to others in many ways.

Acting as the face of Christ and of the school, Ambassadors are involved in many school functions where student help is needed. Their responsibilities include Community Service, Public Relations, Marketing, Welcoming Committee, International Events, 8th Grade Visitations, Shadowing and Touring of the Campus all while developing and perfecting their public speaking abilities.

  • Open to future 10th-12th grade students
  • Strong public speaking skills
  • Required to serve in a minimum of 3 Ambassadors events
  • Ambassador formal uniform is required at all events
    (purchased by student)
